Platform-owner steps to link your WhatsApp Business Account to WAPTO. Tenant-facing connection steps are in Integrate WABA.

1. Create a System User in Business Manager → Users → System Users. Assign the Admin role.
2. Assign assets to the system user: your Meta App and WhatsApp Business Account (WABA). Grant full control.
3. Generate a system user token with these permissions:
   • whatsapp_business_messaging (required)
   • whatsapp_business_management (required)
   • business_management (if linking Business Manager assets)
   • catalog_management (if using WhatsApp Commerce)
4. Save credentials in WAPTO Admin and send a test message. Confirm your webhook receives inbound events.
